Traditional Bitumen Felt Roofs

A traditional felt flat roof is quite outdated in comparison to EPDM and GRP, although it is still an art form when fitted the right way.

Most felt flat roofs are applied by using a torch on bitumen-based felt, consisting of two layers of base felt and green mineral finish or a solar reflective paint. Taking care at the edges/drips, up-stands and joints on the finish layer are key for a well presented felt flat roof. A felt flat roof, installed professionally, can still serve you for at least 10 years.
